Our general first aid training, covering infant and child CPR, is designed for parents, caregivers, teachers, and early childhood professionals in Quebec. Compliant with the Educational Childcare Act (R.S.Q., c. S-4.1.1, s. 20), administered by Ministry of Family (CPE licensing). 8-hour course, 3-year certification.
Early ChildhoodFirst Aider – Early Childhood (8h)
This training is specially designed for educators in childcare settings. It enables them to acquire essential skills for responding to medical emergencies involving young children, particularly infants and preschool-aged children. The training covers the management of severe allergies, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, obstructed airway management and injuries, as well as emergency action plans. In Jamaica the Factories Act (Cap. 124) — with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2017 being brought into force — requires employers to keep certified first-aiders available and maintained first-aid boxes accessible, scaled to the nature and size of the operation (UK model: trained person in charge above 150 workers).
Jamaica's Early Childhood Act and Regulations (2005), together with the Early Childhood Commission's operating standards, require operators and practitioners at early-childhood institutions to be trained in paediatric first aid; online courses are accepted.
Jamaica has no dedicated Good Samaritan statute; as a common-law jurisdiction a rescuer's liability rests on negligence principles, and there is no general statutory duty to rescue.
Nurses and midwives in Jamaica, regulated by the Nursing Council of Jamaica under the Nurses and Midwives Act, must complete 30 hours of continuing education over each two-year licence cycle with documented evidence at renewal, and an accredited CPR/BLS course can count toward those hours.
In Jamaica, care aides in residential and home-care settings are commonly required by the employer to hold current first-aid and CPR training; the HEART/NSTA NVQ-J care-aide qualification supports the role and a standalone recognized certificate is also accepted.
Foster care in Jamaica is administered by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), which requires a medical examination, social-worker supervision and Agency training; a recognized first-aid and CPR certificate is commonly expected so a carer can respond to everyday emergencies.
Online CPR and first-aid training is recognized in Jamaica — no training delivery mode is prescribed, and workplace first-aid training combining online theory with a practical assessment is accepted.
